Medical Technology International Program Offers Eye-Opening Study Abroad Opportunities
In line with the university's vision of " Allied Health Sciences Aiming Towards Excellence and International Program," the School of Allied Health Sciences is paving the way for students to excel on a global scale. This is achieved through the development of curricula that align with international standards, emphasizing language proficiency, and cultivating professional skills.
To meet the demands of students who aspire to enhance their English language skills alongside their medical knowledge and professional competencies, the School of Allied Health Sciences introduced its groundbreaking Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (MT) International program in the 2021 academic year.
This program focuses on nurturing students' language proficiency as a foundation, both in the classroom and through various instructional materials. It ensures that students are well-equipped to apply these language skills to their daily lives. The faculty members provide instruction, and supplemental learning materials are used to facilitate students' familiarity with the English language.
Furthermore, the commitment to advancing teaching, research, and academic services, along with establishing international collaborations with foreign organizations and institutions, remains paramount. This dedication has allowed the School of Allied Health Sciences to excel on the global stage, offering programs such as the "Medical Technology Expo and Academic Collaboration in Medical Technology for the 3rd year MT international students" in Taiwan. In this program, the fourth-year medical technology students have also been selected to serve as student representatives, receiving scholarships from the School of Allied Health Sciences in collaboration with the Center for International Affairs.
This program includes visits to significant and educational sites, fostering opportunities for observation and knowledge exchange. Some of the notable destinations on the itinerary include:
1. Chang Gung University
2. Chang Gung Memorial Hospital
3. National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
4. National Yang Ming Chiao Tung Hospital University
5. Medical Taiwan 2023
These visits are intended to enhance the teaching, research, and academic services of the Medical Technology program while promoting the exchange of experiences with leading researchers from various universities. This collaborative effort is geared towards positioning the university as a global leader in research and academic services and elevating the standards of international education.
By establishing networks for research and academic collaboration and striving for international standards in teaching, this initiative not only benefits the students and faculty but also paves the way for continued growth and excellence at the School of Allied Health Sciences and the university as a whole.
This ambitious endeavor marks a significant opportunity for students and faculty members to further their academic and research capabilities. The collaboration with Chang Gung University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University signifies a promising future of mutual learning and growth.
